The short version
- If you fill out our inquiry form, we keep what you typed and use it to answer you. It lives in HubSpot, the customer system we use.
- We run ads on Facebook and Instagram, and we use the Meta Pixel on this site to see whether those ads work and to show our ads to people who have visited. You can opt out; see section 4.
- We don't sell your information, and we only share it with the services we need to run the site and the business.
- Questions or requests: hello@stlmetrospotlight.com.
1. Who we are
STL Metro Spotlight is a community mail card for neighborhoods across the St. Louis metro. This website, stlmetrospotlight.com, including its community pages, is owned and operated by Archview Marketing, LLC, an independently owned business based in O'Fallon, Illinois. We also publish Edwardsville Spotlight, which has its own privacy policy.
When this policy says "we," "us," or "Spotlight," it means Archview Marketing, LLC.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
The only place this site asks you for information is the inquiry form. When you send it, we receive:
- Your business name, your first and last name, and your email address (required)
- Your phone number (optional)
- The communities you want to reach, your business category, the spot size and number of mailings you're interested in, and anything you write in the message box
- The page you sent the form from, so we know which community you were looking at
If you email us at hello@stlmetrospotlight.com, we keep the email and your address so we can reply.
If you go on to buy a spot, we also collect what we need to produce and bill it: your logo and ad content, the proof approvals you send us, and billing details. Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
We never ask for, and you should never send us, things like Social Security numbers or passwords.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) records basic technical details of each visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, the page that referred you, and the date and time. We use these only to keep the site running and secure.
- The Meta Pixel. When you visit, the pixel tells Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) which pages you viewed and what you did on them. Section 4 explains this in full, including how to opt out.
- Fonts. Our typefaces load from Google Fonts. When they load, your browser sends your IP address to Google. Google says it does not use this to build profiles of visitors; its statement is at developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy.
This site has no user accounts, and there is nothing to log in to.
3. How we use it
We use the information above to:
- Answer your inquiry: check whether your category is still open, quote pricing, and tell you when the next card mails
- Design, proof, print, mail, and bill the spot you buy
- Send occasional emails about openings, new communities, and upcoming mailings, which you can stop at any time (section 6)
- Measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited this site (section 4)
- Keep the site working, secure, and free of spam and bots
- Keep the business records we're required to keep, and meet our legal obligations
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it to make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
4. Cookies, the Meta Pixel, and advertising
Cookies this site sets
The site itself sets no cookies, and it does not use analytics tools such as Google Analytics. The only cookies come from the Meta Pixel, described next.
The Meta Pixel
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram to reach business owners in the communities where a card is open. To make that work, we have placed the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc., on this site, including our community landing pages.
What it does
- Records that your browser visited a page here, which page it was, and actions you take on it, such as clicking a pricing button or submitting the inquiry form
- Sends that to Meta along with your IP address, browser and device information, and, if you got here from one of our ads, the click identifier (
fbclid) from that ad - Sets the cookies below so Meta can recognize the same browser on a later visit
- Depending on how our Meta account is configured, may also send Meta a hashed (scrambled) version of the email address or phone number you type into the form, which Meta uses to match an inquiry to the ad that led to it, not to contact you
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta | Identifies your browser for ad measurement and retargeting | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta | Stores the click identifier from a Meta ad that brought you here | 90 days |
Why we use it
- Measurement. To see whether an ad led to a visit or an inquiry, so we spend our ad budget on what works.
- Retargeting. To show our ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have already visited this site or a particular community page, and to reach people with similar interests.
Meta may connect pixel data to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, and it uses that data under its own privacy policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy. We do not learn who you are from the pixel: we see aggregate results and can define audiences, not individual names.
Your choices about the pixel
- In your Facebook settings. "Your activity off Meta technologies" (facebook.com/off_facebook_activity) lets you disconnect activity on sites like ours from your account, and Ad preferences (facebook.com/adpreferences) lets you opt out of ads based on it.
- In your browser. Blocking or clearing third-party cookies stops Meta from recognizing you on a return visit. Safari, Firefox, and Brave block these cookies by default, and most ad blockers block the pixel entirely.
- Industry opt-outs. The Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) let you opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at once.
Opting out doesn't mean fewer ads on Facebook or Instagram, only that they won't be based on your visit here.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with the services we use to run the site and the business, and only what each one needs:
- HubSpot (customer records): stores inquiry-form submissions and our correspondence with you, and may be used to send our emails. Its servers are in the United States. HubSpot privacy policy
- Meta Platforms (advertising): receives pixel data as described in section 4.
- Hostinger (web hosting): serves the site and keeps the server logs. Hostinger privacy policy
- Google (fonts): receives your IP address when the site's typefaces load.
- Stripe (payments): if you become a customer, Stripe processes your payment and holds your card details; we never see the full card number. Stripe privacy policy
- Our email provider: the service that hosts the hello@ mailbox stores the emails you send us.
- Print and mail vendors: if you buy a spot, the ad itself, meaning your logo, offer, and the business contact details you chose to print, goes to the printer and the U.S. Postal Service. That content is meant to be public. The personal details from your inquiry do not go with it.
We will also disclose information if the law requires it (a subpoena, for example), to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business, in which case the new owner would be bound by this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not give it to data brokers or to other advertisers for their own use.
6. Emails from us, and how to stop them
If you ask about a spot, we reply by email, and we may follow up about openings in your communities, new cards, and upcoming mailing dates. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link that takes effect right away. You can also reply "unsubscribe" to any email, or write to hello@stlmetrospotlight.com.
Unsubscribing stops the marketing emails. If you have bought a spot we will still email you about it (proofs, invoices, mailing dates), and we will always reply when you write to us.
If you give us a phone number, we use it only to talk with you about your inquiry or your spot. We don't send marketing text messages.
7. If you received a Spotlight card in the mail
Spotlight cards are delivered by the U.S. Postal Service to every mailing address in a defined delivery area. The card is not addressed to you by name, and we don't buy or keep lists of residents' names or addresses to decide who receives one. Nothing on the card tracks whether you received it or kept it.
QR codes, phone numbers, and web addresses printed on a card belong to the featured businesses. If you use them, you are dealing with that business under its own privacy practices, not ours.
8. How long we keep it
- Inquiries: for as long as we're talking with you about a spot, and for a reasonable time afterward so we can pick the conversation back up, since an owner who asks in spring often books in the fall. If you would like it deleted sooner, ask and we will.
- Customer records: for as long as you're a customer, plus the period we're required to keep business and tax records, generally seven years.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a limited period and rotated automatically.
- Pixel data: held by Meta under its own retention rules. The pixel's cookies expire 90 days after your last visit.
9. Your rights and choices
Whatever state you live in, you can:
- Ask what personal information we have about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it, which we will do unless we need to keep it for a spot you've bought or for a legal reason
- Opt out of marketing emails (section 6) and of ad tracking (section 4)
Send requests to hello@stlmetrospotlight.com. We respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you, usually by asking you to write from the email address we have on file. We will never treat you differently for making a request.
Some state privacy laws give their residents specific rights. Our business is small enough that most of those laws do not apply to us, but we honor the requests above from everyone regardless.
10. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through the form is encrypted on its way to us. Inquiry records live in HubSpot, which is access-controlled, and only the people who need to answer you can see them. No system is perfectly secure, so if you ever suspect a problem with your information, tell us and we will look into it.
11. Children
This site is for business owners. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other sites
The site links to Edwardsville Spotlight and, on community pages, to featured businesses. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we post the new version here with a new effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will email you about it first. This version took effect on September 17, 2026.
